★★★★★★★★★★4.1 · 34 reviews · 8 hours · from $126

Review of Mauritius’s private south-island tour, with rum and tea tasting, sacred Ganga Talao, waterfalls, viewpoints, lunch, and practical booking advice.

“DO NOT BOOK THIS TOUR. The driver that turned up was not a guide, he was a taxi driver. Not one word was said by the driver between stops, he didn't get out at the tour locations, didn't give any information or guidance. We also had to ask to go to the tea factory, which was closed by the time we arrived. There was no communication to suggest that the Rum distillery was also closed at the weekend, so could not do this tour either. Two of the views points - Maconde and Chamarel - were also not visited as they were not on the taxi drivers "work list". The…”

Review of Mauritius’s 5-hour sunset catamaran cruise, with open-bar drinks, local snacks, dinner, DJ music, views, value, and practical tips.

“Would not recommend for English speakers, couldn’t communicate with the staff and the music was all French. Booking says to arrive at 1650 we were waiting for an hour before getting transported to the boat with little to no indication from staff where we should be or when we’d get moving. Very poorly organised and overall not enjoyable for us.”

Mauritius Eco Whales Quest, 3-4 hours Expedition

8.Mauritius Eco Whales Quest, 3-4 hours Expedition

★★★★★★★★★★3.7 · 23 reviews · 3 hours · from $223

Review of Mauritius Eco Whales Quest, a small-group boat trip with early departures, sperm and humpback whale sightings, and mixed dolphin conditions.

“The guides/sailors of the boat did not give any introduction of themselves the /tour /guide we were in silence the whole trip. They did not explain the type of whales we were seeing or even the location of where we were. The was not as advertised as per what was stated as inclusive. We did not receive any drinks, masks or fins to swim. The pictures implied we would be swimming with whales , hence instructing us to bring snorkelling equipment however we were informed once we sighted the whales, we would not be swimming with them. We were not offered an alternative place to swim either, swimming was indicated…”
